On Roots:

Bodies can be really impossible to have, really wild to have, and really wonderful to have. Spill is coming out of a desire to present folx with tools to help feel, hold, ground, and visit themselves. It is about illumination and unmasking and honoring. It is genderfluid fierceness, tenderness, sensuality, and laughter.

I initially launched Spill to create beautiful gender affirming, body adoring, dysphoria deflecting adornments for badass babes in my community. As a genderqueer individual living with body dysmorphia and chronic pain//illness, I've found wearing harnesses and collars to be a grounding, often sacred experience. Sometimes we just want to forget that we have bodies all together. For me, wearing adornments that hold and touch and weigh on me in ways that feel affirmatively aware, is an essential part of working with and through body dysphoria and pain. I want to create pieces for others that bring about similar feelings of rooted joy, magic, strength, and fire.

On Craft:

Leatherworking has been a way for me to connect with my body and meditate through my health rough spots. This making process exists in a world that feels old in my bones and charged with magic. It is an ancient material and is incredibly versatile and lasting. Sustainably produced plant-based vegan leathers will hopefully be added to the store in the future. 

On Space:

Spill is part of a movement of makers that demands the representation of diverse gender identity, race, body type,  ability, and sexuality. Visibility is mandatory, as is a safe space for conversation. If you have concerns, commentary, or suggestions please feel welcomed to contact me over email.
